Free customer masterclass in Coleraine later this month

A free masterclass in attracting and retaining customers for owners and managers in the hospitality, leisure, travel and tourism industry, hosted by People 1st, will be held in the Lodge Hotel, Coleraine on Thursday, September 23 from 11am to 1pm.

This is part of a Northern Ireland wide series of free networking and masterclass events called ‘Through the Door’, practical lessons on attracting and retaining customers, organised by People 1st, the sector skills council for hospitality, leisure, travel and tourism.

It is held in association with the Northern Workforce Development Forum, Coleraine District Council and Causeway Coast and Glens.

Stressing the opportunity the event offers businesses, Roisin McKee People 1st said:

“Customers are the lifeblood of our industry and attracting and retaining them is even more crucial in these challenging times.

“Our aim is that employers will be inspired and enthused and most of all equipped with the right training tools to grow their people and their product. We’ll also be highlighting the website www.uksp.co.uk which is a one stop shop for employers and employees on funding, jobs, careers and skills.”

Guest speakers will be Nikki McQuillan co-founder of The Streat Caf franchise and South Armagh born Hugh Daly known as the serial entrepreneur.

Nikki will share her thoughts on her five business success factors; Customers are King, Focus on Costs, Train Train Train, People Focus and Work Life Balance.

Hugh will share his experiences of the highs and lows in his varied entrepreneurial journey. Humble yet hilarious, Hugh will give his views on what it takes for individuals and businesses to succeed.

Business and training advisors will be on hand to advise on opportunities, funding and programmes to benefit businesses.

Exhibitors at the Coleraine event will include People 1st, the Department for Employment and Learning, the Northern Ireland Tourist Board and Northern Regional College.
