Free insulation scheme from Power NI

POWER NI has announced a free insulation package to help eligible households reduce the amount of heat lost through their roofs and walls.

Following on from recent Northern Ireland Executive announcements encouraging homeowners to install more energy efficient products, local MLA Mervyn Storey MLA supported Power NI’s latest initiative to help customers save energy.

Mr Storey said: “Insulating your home is one of the simplest and most cost effective ways of saving energy and money, as well as making it cosier for the cooler months ahead.”

The Free Insulation offer with Power NI, provides a full package of loft insulation, cavity wall insulation, a hot water tank jacket and four energy saving light bulbs up to the value of £800.

Options like loft insulation could save customers as much as £150 per year off energy bills, whilst cavity wall insulation is another excellent way to reduce the amount of energy needed to heat homes and could save households up to £115 a year.

Claire Carson, Power NI, said: “We know that many homeowners are still unaware of the benefits of having their lofts or cavity walls insulated.

“We would encourage households to take advantage of this new initiative and reap the benefits of a warmer, cosier home as well as saving energy and money.”
