Free money-advice service hosted in libraries

BRANCH libraries in Carrickfergus, Larne and Rathcoole are hosting free, one-to-one, confidential money advice delivered by A4e.

In all, 23 libraries across Northern Ireland are participating in the initiative, which is available to everyone. People are advised to contact their local library in advance to book a session.

A4e is delivering the face-to-face sessions on behalf of the Money Advice Service, to help people understand and manage their money better.

The completely impartial money guidance service covers a wide range of topics and offers advice for people of all ages and all incomes on issues from budgeting to saving, credit and borrowing, mortgages, insurance, pensions and retirement planning.

A4e will be at Carrick library for a half-day afternoon session on the first Monday of each month; at Larne on the afternoon of the second Monday: and at Rathcoole on the morning of the fourth Monday.

Josephine Patten, information manager with Libraries NI, explained: “Libraries NI is delighted to offer members of the public this free and confidential Money Advice Service, delivered by A4e, in a total of 23 libraries across 18 council areas in Northern Ireland.

“One of the aims of Libraries NI is to promote key information services to the public, so by partnering with a4e, we can target people in our communities who could benefit from free and impartial money assistance. Everyone is welcome to use this free service, so contact any of these libraries to book a session.”
