At around 6.35pm, police received a report that a cyclist had been struck by a car approximately two miles from Moneymore. The 44-year-old cyclist was treated in hospital for life altering injuries.

Inspector Daniel Walsh said: “I am especially appealing to two witnesses who were at the scene of the collision.
