Frew looking forward to fifth Car Fest

BALLYMENA Councillor and local DUP MLA Paul Frew has met up with the organisers of the Annual Car Fest to look over the plans for this year’s event which will be held on Saturday, June 8.

A major supporter of the Car Fest, Councillor Frew said he was delighted that Ballymena Council had supported his proposal to purchase, through a Service Level Agreement, a promotion marketing package, at an agreed price of £5000, which includes the Council logo on all literature and advertising, press releases and radio adverts.

Speaking last week at the Ballee playing fields where the event is held every year he said: “Credit must go to the organisers who work tirelessly all year round to make this a great spectacle for the whole family and also raise so much money for MacMillan Cancer Charity.

“Car Fest attracts over 5000 spectators and just under 800 participants and is undoubtably one of the most progressive and steadily growing events in the borough bringing with it economic benefit to the area including an increase in bed nights and additional spend in the town centre.

“I have been assisting the group where I can, setting up meetings with the NI Tourist Board, Ballymena Borough Council and others.

“I’m very excited with the plans for this year, some of which are still secret, so people will have to watch this space over the next few weeks to hear and see what’s in store for this year,” he said.
