Friends and family say thanks to hospital for helping little Lewis

Lewis Walker was admitted to the hospital at just four weeks old and spent the next year undergoing tests with doctors trying various medications to try and get his condition under control.

His mother Jennifer Walker explained: “It was decided that the only way for Lewis to be fed was through an N G feeding tube as he refused everything orally. At 17 weeks he was started on solid food which he wouldn’t take and now has an oral adversity to food.”

Jennifer says very slow progress was being made to get Lewis to feed normally so it was decided that an operation to stop the sickness and acid in his stomach was needed and his NG tube be replaced with a peg tube. Lewis received his operation in the middle of June and is currently doing well.

His concerned mother said: “To show our appreciation and thanks to Dr Armstrong and all the staff on the Allen Ward for everything they have done for our little boy, some family and friends raised money through fundraising activities. This was recently presented to the Ward sister. Myself and my husband Neil are very grateful for all the care they have given Lewis.”
