Friends’ pupils triumph in German A-Level debate

On Thursday February 5, Friends’ School competed in the Northern Ireland A-level German Debate against teams from Rathmore Grammar School, Campbell College, Strathearn School, Bangor Grammar School and The Royal School Armagh.

The team from Friends’ consisted of three pupils: James Milliken and Aimee Palmer, both in Year 13, and Luanna McMullan from Year 14. They debated – in German - with clarity and humour on the topic of how sports stars and other celebrities have a negative influence on young people, and were named overall winners of the competition. In his role as captain of the team, James was also named Best Speaker in the debate.
