From medieval weddings to ‘Flog It’ - Sheryl has seen it all!

Originally from Belfast, Sheryl moved to just outside Bushmills 40 years ago. “So I think I can call myself a local now,” she joked.

In her time at Lissanoure Castle, Sheryl has seen changes to the grounds and the interior of both castle and courtyard and barn.

She says the the highlight of her career has been working with the many brides who have come to the Castle for that most special of days.

“Lissanoure brides are a breed unto themselves, they are looking for something different, relaxed, intimate and personal,” Sheryl told the Times.

“Emotions run high at times of weddings and I have always felt I have had a constructive, calming effect. There have been happy occasions including a medieval wedding and those tinged with sadness due to terminal illness. I will miss the buzz and the company, the joy of job completion.”

Sheryl wished Castle owners Peter and Emily Mackie “and my successor all the very best and hope they get as much enjoyment as I have done over the years.”

“I would like to thank all my staff over the years who helped make my job easier and all our suppliers from flowers and cakes to fireworks and food, I have enjoyed you all and learned something from everyone.”
