Fun day at Macneice Fold raises over £1k for Alzehimer’s Society

Fold Housing Association’s Macneice Fold in Carrick has raised a whopping £1,171 for Alzheimer’s Society NI during their summer garden fete.

The fold, which provides independent living for 36 tenants, hosted the event as part of their ongoing activities calendar.

Coordinator Ruth Gault said: “We are thrilled to have raised £1171 for Alzheimer’s Society NI at the fete. As well as raising much needed funds for Fold’s corporate charity partner, the event provided the perfect backdrop for our tenants to get together with family and friends for a bit of a party.

“We were delighted with the support we received from PSNI, the Fire Service, Casie’s Creatures, and First For Fun for letting us have a bouncy castle for the day.

“Local branches of Tesco and Sainsbury’s provided vouchers for our tombola and many local groups including Carrickfergus Bowling Club, Ownies Bistro, Simply Pizza, Brewers Fayre, Dobbins Inn, The Swift, A&A Catering via Carrickfergus Golf Club, Cuddy’s, Euro Spar Victoria, Shek Beauty, Millar’s Old Tyme sweets, Artist John Peoples,and Glass opticians were very generous, providing gifts in kind and vouchers for prizes.

“We want to thank everyone who helped make the day a tremendous success through donations and support.”

Richard Gilliland, Alzheimer’s Society NI added: “The monies raised by Fold Housing Association’s Macneice Fold will go a long way in helping to fund vital services in Carrickfergus and surrounding areas. It will allow us to support people living with dementia and help with providing care for today and finding a cure for tomorrow.”
