Fun day at Parkview

Alderman Paul Porter joined in the fun at Parkview Special School’s Fun Day, which took place on August 1.

Teacher Mrs Gillian Pierce, head of Department at Parkview, said: “We run the summer activity scheme for the children every year and it is truly inspiring to see how much enjoyment they get from two week-long activities. We are really pleased to see Alderman Paul Porter visit the school and I would like to extend our appreciation to Lisburn City Council for its continued vocal and financial support.”

The school offers education to children from 3 years to 19 years.

Alderman Porter, who is chairman of the leisure services committee, said: “It is very important that Parkview Special School continues to thrive and grow. It offers a great educational service to families with children who have special needs, with specialised caring staff. It is a very welcoming place to be and to see the children enjoy the summer activity scheme is extremely heart-warming. The council has continuously supported the summer scheme at the school and we were delighted to accept the invitation to visit the fun day. I wish to commend everyone for their hard work.”
