The June 7 event in the Parish Centre at Scarva Road, Banbridge is being staged with the help of Nanny’s Closet, local purveyor of vintage-wear and bespoke millinery.

According to organisers it will include “an eclectic range of vintage-wear along with show-stopping, winning ladies’ day outfits”.

A spokesperson said: “If you want ideas of what to wear to your next wedding or day at the races don’t miss out on this local fashion event . . . with spring well underway and summer fast approaching it’s a great time to attend a ladies’ day at the races and the perfect time for weddings.

“This fashion show will show you how to revamp and update your wardrobe for all those special occasions and demonstrate that there is no need to break the bank when it comes to sourcing the perfect outfit.

“What’s even better is the fact that the majority of outfits on show are all one-off pieces, so there will be no risk of turning up in the same outfit as someone else.”

Staff and residents at Crozier House and pupils and staff at Donard School are hoping for support from the local community to help raise much-needed funds.
