Funding confirmed for project

As well as the 98 new homes, there will also be a £150,000 spent on a new play-park, which when completed will be managed and maintained by Lisburn City Council.

Speaking after the Minister’s meeting, Mr Craig said: “I would like to thank Minister Storey for taking time to meet representatives from Seymour Hill Community Association and Connswater Homes.

“I would also like to welcome the announcement by the Minister that the £10 million funding for this project has now been secured for this financial year and that work on the 98 new homes is planned to start in the early part of next year.

“The old Dunmurry High School site has the potential to bring real benefits for the wider Seymour Hill area, delivering much needed social housing for local families, a play-park and £500,000 of funding from Lisburn City Council for a new Multi-Use Games Area.

“There are also other opportunities in the coming years that will see this site transformed for the benefit of the whole community.

“I would like to personally thank Connswater Homes and community representatives for all their commitment and hard work in the delivery of this multi-million pound project.”
