Funding deadline coming up - financial support for arts projects

IF YOU’RE a locally-based artist, or an arts-related group, that could do with a financial helping hand, Coleraine Borough Arts Committee may be able to help - but the deadline is coming up fast!

The committee, which meets several times a year at Flowerfield Arts Centre, invites applications from artists in the borough three times a year - and the next deadline is on May 1.

In the past, the committee – which is supported by Coleraine Borough Council has provided assistance for artists in all kinds of disciplines, including visual artists, writers, musicians, filmmakers and actors.

“The committee seeks to encourage the arts and creative activity for everyone living in or visiting the borough of Coleraine,” explains Malcolm Murchison, secretary of the committee.

2One way this is achieved is by offering financial assistance to local groups and individuals to develop local arts activity. The committee has a modest budget to allocate for this purpose and consequently awards usually range between £50 and £500, with lower sums being more typical.”

Application forms – complete with guidance notes, are downloadable from the Flowerfield Arts Centre website on www.flowerfield.org as a PDF document or Word document.

You can also request an application form by e-mailing Flowerfield Arts Centre on [email protected], or by ringing the centre on (028) 7083 1400.

Completed forms must be returned to the committee by May 1.
