Funding for local groups

Two local community groups are set to share in almost £1,000 of funding.

St Benedict’s PTA and Tity Randalstown are to receive the money as part of Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council’s Small Grants programme.

The purpose of the Small Grants Programme is to provide financial assistance to groups within the Borough of up to a maximum of £500 towards Seeding Costs and/or Insurance or a Small Activity and/or insurance.

St Benedict’s was awarded £500 towards the provision of a summer scheme.

Tidy Randalstown was awarded £477.27 to cover insurance costs for the group’s annual programme of events.

The funding was approved by Antrim and Newtownabbey councillors at last week’s monthly meeting of the local authority.
