Funding for older people’s programmes
Councillor Beryl McKnight, chair of Carrickfergus Older People’s Forum, with committee members who have received £1000 from Lloyds TSB.
They will run a series of programmes including healthy eating on a budget, getting active, tea dances and a community visit. Cllr McKnight said: “This will give pensioners who are isolated a chance to meet other people; as the dark nights are approaching we need to look out for our older people.”
