Funding for West Bann

SOCIAL Development Minister Alex Attwood has announced a further funding boost for West Bann Development group in the Churchlands, Coleraine.

The 15,000 funding will help the group employ a centre manager and a finance administrative assistant.

It also includes a contribution to the running costs of the Community Education and Training Programme which delivers IT courses to local

residents. The IT courses will help address the educational and training needs of residents of the Neighbourhood Renewal Area.

Mr Attwood said: "This is a good boost for people in the Churchlands area of Coleraine.

"The funding will help the West Bann Development Centre, who are at the heart of the community, deliver a number of programmes including a range of IT courses for local people.

"This will allow residents to enhance their knowledge and skills and ultimately their employability in a competitive labour market.

This funding brings the total Neighbourhood Renewal investment in West Bann Development to 291,000
