Fundraiser for meeting house

THE congregation at Glenarm Non Subscribing Church has held a ballot to help raise funds for the restoration of the church’s meeting house.

Built in 1762 with the help of a generous grant from Lord Antrim, it is one of the oldest buildings in the village and apart from the addition of a porch, remains virtually unchanged.

The small congregation faces a substantial repair bill, but is rising to the challenge and would like to thank all those who bought tickets for the ballot and donated prizes.

The winning tickets were drawn by June Ashford, and in first place was Jane Currie, who won a Christmas hamper. In second place, with the prize of a meat voucher, was Joanna Robinson, and in third with a gift token for Marks and Spencers was Naamh McAuley.
