The local community has been united in their prayers and good wishes for Lisa Toner’s recovery after she took ill following her arrival in California.

Several thousand pounds has been raised by friends and strangers since Lisa, who has three young children, set up a special Go Fund Me page online.

Tomorrow night, Friday, three of her friends will be hosting a fundraising event in Hagan’s Bar in Dungannon from 8.30pm.

One of the organisers, Lisa Maguire, issued a warm welcome to as many people as possible to come along and support their campaign to help the young mum, who has an aggressive form of cervical cancer, to find enough money to fund her treatment and return home to her family.

“It is going to be a brilliant night”, Lisa Maguire continued.

“We have been overwhelmed by the generosity of local people and businesses who have bought tickets and donated some wonderful prizes.”
