Fundraising success for Resurgam

THE winner of the Resurgam Trust Christmas Ballot was Mr Philip Wilson.

The ballot was independently drawn by Brain Henry (caterer), at the Trust’s annual Christmas staff dinner in the Highway Inn.

The prize, a 110cc Honda Scooter supplied by Belfast Honda Centre and donated to The Resurgam Trust by four of their Social Enterprises raised an impressive £8965.

Resurgam Trust Chairman Philip Dean said: “I want to thank Premier Taxi Company, The Highway Inn, Lisburn Community Self Build and Laganside Business Services for donating this wonderful prize of a Honda Scooter.

The full amount of every ballot sold will go directly into our reserves, allowing us to make up shortfalls in funding streams for many of our member groups. 1,793 ballots were sold throughout our membership making this our most successful fundraising venture ever. I want to thank the Belfast Honda Centre for supplying this scooter to our social enterprises at cost, ensuring that every penny went to the trust.”

Philip added: “Laganview Enterprise Centre allowed us to show this prize in their foyer for the month of December enabling us to reach as many individuals and groups as possible.

“It has been a great success and we are already developing ideas for our next fundraising venture. This money raised will be put to work immediately throughout our areas of work in Lisburn.”
