Funds for village revamp

Plans are firmly in the pipeline to revitalise Cullybackey for the benefit of both locals and visitors.

Cullybackey Development Association has applied for Village Renewal Funding of £24,750 under the North East Rural Development Programme (RDP) with the aim of creating a community garden; fencing, signage etc; flower containers, street furniture; and, visitor information points.

The Association also sought 25% match funding from Ballymena Council and there was good news at last Monday night’s Economic Growth and Development Committee when councillors agreed ‘in principle’ to the funding request for a maximum of £8,250.
