Funeral date for Maghera crash victim

Reggie as he was known was the much loved father of Rhys and Jessica, and will be laid to rest following a funeral service tomorrow (Thursday) at 12noon in St Paul’s Church, Articlave.

He will then be buried in the adjoining churchyard.

The 29-year-old was involved in a one vehicle road traffic collision in the Coleraine area in the early hours of Saturday morning and died a day later at Causeway Hospital.

Police continue to appeal for anyone who was travelling on the Curragh Road that morning and who witnessed the collision to contact local officers in Coleraine or the Collision Investigation Unit on 101 quoting reference number 481 of 18/03/17.

A notice on Funeral Times said: "Diamond – March 19th 2017, Reggie, 14, Oakvale Terrace, Culnady, Maghera, much loved father of Rhys and Jessica, dearly beloved son of Reggie and the late Sharon Gardiner, very dear brother of Catherine, grandson of Lexie and Margaret Gardiner and a dear brother-in-law, uncle and nephew.

"Funeral Service on Thursday at 12noon in St. Paul’s Church, Articlave, burial afterwards in the adjoining churchyard.

"Donations in lieu of flowers, if desired, to I.C.U. Causeway Hospital (cheques to N.H.S.C.T.), c/o DJM Robinson & Son, 121 Culcrum Rd., Cloughmills. BT44 9DT. Lovingly remembered."
