Local politicians have linked his sudden death to drugs and have requested a meeting with police chiefs to discuss the problem.

His funeral will leave his mother Margaret's home at Leckagh Drive, Magherafelt, at 1pm for a service in Coagh Presbyterian Church at 2pm. He will be buried in the adjoining graveyard.

Tragedy hit the family back in 1978 when Mr Taylor's father, Jim, was shot dead by undercover soldiers while out hunting near the village in a case of mistaken identity.

Mr Taylor's death is the second sudden death believed to be drugs related in Coagh within a month.

Twenty-one-year Amy Reid, from Cookstown, died following a house party at the same flat at the end of October.
