Funeral to be held for Cookstown woman Jayne Burnside killed in road accident

A funeral service will be held today for the Cookstown woman killed in a road accident on Saturday morning.

Jayne Burnside who was 23-years-old died after she was struck by a car on the Gortagammon Road, Tullyhogue just before 1.00am.

She will be laid to rest in Donaghmore Upper Churchyard on Tuesday, after a funeral service in her home in Tullyhogue, Cookstown at 1pm.

It emerged that four people from Mid Ulster were killed in road accidents over the weekend.

Four people from Mid Ulster killed on roads in devastating weekendAs well, as the two women Jayne Burnside [23] and Bernie McNicholl who was in her fifties, it emerged that the crash victim in Strabane was Sean McElwee from Cookstown, while a lorry driver killed on the M1 near Drogheda was Richard Patterson originally from Stewartstown.

“It has been another tragic weekend for families across Northern Ireland who have lost loved ones as a result of road traffic collisions.”
