Funerals held for Moneymore woman and Cookstown man killed on roads

Bernie McNicholl who died after a single vehicle crash on the Moneymore to Cookstown Road in the early hours of Sunday morning, was laid to rest after a funeral service at 11am in St Brigid’s in Brocagh, near Coalisland.

Formerly McCann, Bernadette was the mother of Gary and Seana and sister of John-Frank, Anne, Leo, Ignatius, Eugene, Oliver, Damien, Martin, Madonna and Raymond.

In Cookstown, Sean McElwee who was killed in a crash near Strabane, was laid to rest after a funeral service at Holy Trinity Church.

Mr McElwee, was a highly respected member of the Fr Rock’s GAA club in Cookstown.

On Tuesday, a funeral service was held for 23-year-old Jayne Burnside from Tullyhogue who was killed after she was struck by a car close to her home in the early hours of Saturday morning.
