Future education in Garvagh: have YOUR say

PARENTS, families, teachers and the public in the Garvagh area are being urged to make their voices heard at a public discussion on the future of education.

The event, “Our Children. Their Education. Your Voice” is taking place in the Garvagh Community Building on Wednesday, May 30 at 7.30pm.

The public discussion follows the Department of Education’s publication of audits examining the viability of every school in the Garvagh area.

Organisers of the event want to see greater community involvement in the planning and delivering of new models of education and empower parents to influence the forth coming area-based planning process, which is about anticipating the future education needs of an area and planning to meet those needs.

The evening is being hosted by the Causeway Rural and Urban Network and will be chaired by Tony Macaulay.
