Gaelic for mothers launched

Organised by Craigavon Borough Council in partnership with the Lottery funded Active Communities programme, ‘Gaelic4Mothers’ is a six week course starting on Tuesday, February 1, at the 3G pitch in Clan Na Gael, Francis Street.

Gaelic4Mothers is a National Ladies Gaelic initiative which is giving mums across Ireland the opportunity to pull on their boots and get involved in playing the game. The programme has grown from strength to strength since its inception two years ago.

The programme will provide women with an opportunity to be physically active within the non competitive framework of Ladies Gaelic football creating a fun, sociable element to Ladies Gaelic Football.

“This brand new programme is a great opportunity for mums to get active, meet new people and have fun while learning some new skills at the same time,” says Roisin O’Hagan, Active Communities Gaelic Games Coach with Craigavon Borough Council.”

All participants must be over 18 and you don’t have to be a mum to take part. Sessions take place from 7pm to 8pm.
