Gales and wintry showers to lash Mid Ulster

Gale force winds and wintry showers are expected to lash Mid Ulster over the next two days, weather forecasters have said.

According to the Met Office, Tuesday will see will see cloudy conditions with outbreaks of rain becoming heavy and prolonged across County L’Derry and Tyrone in the morning, then sweeping east across Antrim and County Down in afternoon.

Clearing to wintry showers towards evening with occasionally gale force southerly winds turning westerly. Maximum Temperature 10 °C.

Tonight: Clear spells and wintry showers, some heavy with thunder, snow lying on hills. Occasional gale force west or southwest winds, perhaps storm force in north with large seas onto coast. Minimum Temperature 2 °C.

Wednesday: Bright or sunny spells, but with blustery, occasionally heavy, wintry showers and snow lying on hills. West or southwesterly gales, occasional storm force in north.
