GAME OF THRONES BOOST FOR TOURISM
A TOURISM boost is on the way for north Antrim if tours associated with the world-wide cult tv series ‘Game of Thrones’ become well established.
Areas like Ballintoy Harbour, caves at Cushendun and the famous ‘Dark Hedges’ near Armoy have been used in the series which has captivated audiences around the globe.
New scenes for the next series of Game of Thrones are due to be filmed in areas like Ballintoy later this year.
When ‘Game of Thrones’ first started using well-known local landmarks it was hoped at the time that there could be a tourism spin-off.
And now bus tours are being set up to bring tourists to the area.
