Garden society in bloom

CASTLECAULFIELD Horticultural Society along with support from Dungannon and South Tyrone Borough Council continues to enhance the village with floral displays and general tidy up in the run up to Ulster in Bloom.

All villagers are encouraged to continue the good work already taking place by the Society and residents. All the evidence so far bodes well for an improvement on the magnificent 3rd place (out of 23) achieved for the past two years.

The Society has received funding from Peace 3 to purchase 6 half barrels for planting and placing around the village. Villagers of all ages are invited to “do your bit” and help fill these barrels with flowers supplied by the Society. This will be a great activity to involve all the family in a very worthwhile cause. So come and join the Society on Wednesday July 3rd at 6.30pm at The Figures. Ulster in Bloom judging will take place around the middle of August.

The Annual Flower Show, Vintage Rally and Fun Day takes place at Parkanaur on Saturday 17th August. Show brochures are now freely available in all village shops.

The next meeting takes place on Wednesday 17th July at 8.00pm in the Parish Hall .
