Garden tools stolen

GARDENING tools were stolen in overnight raids on two sheds in Craigavon.

Between Tuesday and Wednesday of last week (April 6 and 7) entry was gained to the shed in two separate homes in Drumellan Park.

A B&Q hedge trimmer, a red and black Qualcast lawnmower and a red and black strimmer were taken, some of which was found in nearby fields.

The police have urged home owners to ensure their property is secured. A spokeswoman said: "Houses and sheds should always be properly locked and appropriate lighting can also prove a deterrent to criminals."

The police have appealed for information, they would like to hear from anyone who may be offered equipment for sale in suspicious circumstances.

Meanwhile, police have recovered a blue electric lawnmower from the Lismore area. The lawnmower is believed to be lost or stolen property and police are keen to trace the owner.
