Gardenmore church hosts annual CE service

GARDENMORE Presbyterian Church's annual Christian Endeavour service had as its theme, Trust in God. The Juniors had been considering this theme throughout the year as they had been studying the story of Joseph at their weekly meetings on Tuesday night. They had seen how Joseph trusted in God and how God had worked in Joseph's life.

Phil McCall, who warmly welcomed everyone, conducted the service. Jill Carmichael led the opening prayers while Emily Campbell, Jodie Mills and Johnny and Sophie Farquhar led the prayers of intercession which took the form of a chain prayer. This type of prayer is an integral part of Christian Endeavour, when members are encouraged to join in the saying of short prayers thus forming the links in a chain.

Another characteristic feature of CE – the memory verse – was recited by the Juniors.
