Garron Tower old boy Sidebottom and DUP MP visit St Killian’s

St. Killian’s students have been given an insight into the jobs of two high profile guests.

BBC sports editor Mark Sidebottom met with Mrs Blaney’s media studies class and other students interested in following a career in journalism and the media.

Mark, a past pupil of St MacNissi’s College, was well able to relate to his audience and recalled his adventures as a student at ‘The Tower’ as well as talking about his career and his current job. Pupil Katie Burns interviewed Mark for the school magazine.

St. Killian’s also welcomed DUP MLA, former Finance Minister Sammy Wilson who visited Mrs McDonnell’s KS4 LLW class and talked to them about a number of government agencies, including the Police Ombundsman, the Historical Enquires Team and the benefits of devolved government.

Mr Wilson, a former teacher, engaged well with the students and complimented the group.
