The Fields of Life children’s choir performed at the Ballymoney School and the children shared some of their favourite hymns with the Ugandans. The finale of the morning was when all the children joined together to sing “Give me Oil in my Lamp”. The Ugandans sampled some homemade pancakes and “wee buns” as part of their visit and enjoyed a tour of the school which is very different to what their school is like back home.

The Garryduff pupils spent last week raising money for the choir through their whole school “Money week” initiative. Each day the pupils had an opportunity to purchase various items for their break – from toast to pancakes or fruit. The climax of their week was a non-uniform day on Friday. One P7 pupil donated his loose change collection from home which he has been collecting all year. One pupil said “This was the best week ever – lots of yummy things to spend my money on and the really best bit was when we met the Fields of Life Choir! It was good to be able to give them some money too because they don’t have as much money as us.” A total of £241 was presented to the choir.
