Garvagh Care Home Repreive?

Four Seasons Health Care has revealed it is in discussions with a care home operator about sale of a Garvagh care home earmarked for closure.

Garvagh Care Home at Kilrea Road is one of two homes Four Seasons has revealed it has received offers for – the other being Hamilton Court in Armagh.

Four Seasons recently announced it had reached agreement with Hutchinson Care Homes to buy Antrim Care Home and with Spa Nursing Home Group to by Oakridge Care Home in Ballynahinch

The firm said it was working with the prospective buyers to move the sale process to a speedy conclusion. If the sale completes, then permanent staff in the homes would transfer to the new operator under TUPE provisions with their terms and conditions protected and residents would continue to be cared for by the people who are looking after them now.

A Four Seasons spokesman said: “We had come to the decision to close these homes with great reluctance and so we welcome the possibility that they will continue to provide care. We will do everything we can to help facilitate a smooth transfer to new ownership with no disruption to the care of residents and continuity of employment.”

The firm has paused consultation with unions and employees over the closures.
