Garvagh Historical Society

THE first meeting of GarvaghHistorical Society’s new season takes place on Thursday, September 27 at 8pm in the Community Building Garvagh.

The speaker, Eric Lake, will give an illustrated talk on the Derry Central Railway entitled “Up the Line”.

As a schoolboy Eric travelled the Derry Central between Coleraine, Aghadowey and Garvagh and walked sections of the railway after closure, including the Macfin Bridge over the River Bann on foot.

In addition to being a railway enthusiast, Eric is a transport professional and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport.

Anyone interested in coming along will be made welcome.
