GE Energy staff show their support for Children’s Hospice

GE Energy Lisburn has strengthened its volunteering and charitable committment by partnering with the Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice.

Twenty GE employees took part in the Belfast City Marathon events earlier this year including the full Marathon Run, Marathon Team Relays and the 9 Mile Walk. Entries were funded for the GE HealthAhead and Women’s Network programs and the participants were also supported by the 140 strong workforce at the Lisburn site who held an onsite fundraising week.

Fundraising activities included car washing, waxathon, cake sale and raffle, Team Leader Tea Lady and evening quiz.

All together they raised £3885 for the Children’s Hospice and the company is looking forward to further developing its links with the Children’s Hospice in the near future.

Ellen Hillen, Corporate Fundraising Manager for NI Children’s Hospice said: “We are delighted that the partnership with GE Energy has proved successful and thanks to all the staff we will be able to provide over 130 hours of care to local children with a life-limited or life threatening illness making a significant difference to them and their families.”
