The free cross-community family day, aims to introduce new sports to people and encourage everyone to get active and keep their bodies, hearts and lungs fit and healthy. And with Craigavon being one of the first places in Northern Ireland to sign up as a British Heart Foundation (BHF) Northern Ireland Heart Town, the event is an excellent chance to learn about the many health benefits of sport and exercise.

Mayor of Craigavon, Councillor Alan Carson, said; “Council is delighted to partner with both Sport Comes 2 Town and the British Heart Foundation to encourage residents across the Borough to stay fit and healthy through the medium of sport and physical activity.

“The event provides an excellent opportunity to showcase the many benefits of sport including how it can help reduce the risk of heart disease, improve bones and joints and boost overall wellbeing. I would encourage everyone both young and old to come along on the day, try out something new and have fun!”
