But not for the fantastic children at Gaelscoil an Chaistil who, after weeks of hard work and practising, put on a fun filled show at their Christmas concert.

The children and their teachers had been practising their lines, songs and routines for weeks and finally all the hard work paid off.

There were children as young as four on the stage reciting learned lines and singing the Gaelic version of well known Christmas songs and our oldest children bringing Grease to the stage with some well known characters.

The Primary 4/5 children brought a bit of magic to the stage with the classic Wizard of Oz, while the children in Primary 2/3 entertained us with a comedy story of ‘Síofra Síog’ and that naughty elf Ella.

“Children got the opportunity to celebrate with their parents, highlighting both their dramatic and bilingual talents”, explained principal Brídín Ní Dhonnghaile.

“All the children and their teachers have worked immensely hard over the past few weeks preparing for the concert.

“I would like to thank everyone who generously sponsored prizes for the raffle, everyone who came to the Sheskburn to see the play and the Comhaltas group, of current and past pupils, who provided musical entertainment at the beginning of the evening,”
