George ends his role with Society

FOR more than a quarter of a century, George Huey has been faithfully keeping the finances of Ballycastle and District Tractor Ploughing Society in good order.

The Armoy man has also been actively involved with the Society in other roles so it was with some sadness that officers accepted George’s resignation from the post recently.

To mark his contribution, the chairman, Mr. Robert Taggart, referred to George’s work and worth down the years and thanked him for his “excellent work” as treasurer.

Mr. Taggart handed over an engraved watch on behalf of the Society and wished George all the best in the future.

It was also decided to donate a cheque to Marie Curie and Mr. David McCurdy, the new treasurer, made a presentation to Mr. Johnnie Butler.
