Get back to school with Translink’s Pupil Pass

WITH the new school term just around the corner, Translink is encouraging parents to apply for this year’s Pupil Pass for hassle-free travel to and from school.

Travelling by public transport is a safe and cost effective way for kids to travel to school and the experience provides children with independence and helps develop social skills.

Stephen Campbell, Brand Coordinator explains: “Pupil Passes represent an ideal solution for children who do not qualify for free travel passes. Carrying a Pupil Pass also means that kids don’t have to carry cash for tickets and provides parents with peace of mind.

“If your child will not be travelling by bus every day, they also have the option of using a Smartlink card which can be pre-loaded with a number of journeys and used as and when needed. These journeys are valid for one year and you can top up any time at a wide range of convenience stores throughout Northern Ireland.”

Translink is Northern Ireland’s principal school transport service provider, carrying over 65,000 school pupils every day. Pupil Passes are valid on both bus and rail services. Application forms are available from all main bus and rail stations or by contacting the Pupil Ticket Office directly on 028 9035 4074.
