From Friday, July 30 to Thursday, August 5, InterAct will present a huge choice of art forms for you to try in the 20 workshops on offer. Whether you are interested in music, drama, dance, singing, visual art, performance skills or arts and crafts, you will find something for you in InterAct.

As a music enthusiast you might want to try your hand at the one-day Digital Music workshop at the Verbal Arts Centre which will teach you how to create and record garageband using Reason. The ever-popular Rock School, bOUNCE DJ School and Music Production at this stage are fully booked.

The one-day Drama Techniques workshop, facilitated by Felicity McCall will allow you to experience and learn acting skills such as hot-seating, forum theatre and characterization. In Site-Specific Theatre you will be given the opportunity to devise a piece of street theatre, and perform it before an audience of unsuspecting passers-by.

If you want to get hands-on with being creative, Carnival Mask-Making is a must. You will create your very own 3-dimensional mask, embellished with sequins, feathers and, beads. The Animation workshop will also allow you to create your own clay character before developing a script, animating, editing, adding sound and producing a short film.

Aspiring dancers can get their groove on and learn new moves in the Pop-Video Style workshop or the Glee Dance School, which will both perform at the Showcase. Those of you who want to sing can do so in the Glee Singing School, preparing ‘Don’t Stop Believing’ or ‘Like A Prayer’ for the Showcase, while those who want to improve their vocal technique will learn how to in How To Sing Onstage.

Graffiti Art is sure to be a popular workshop, one in which you will use tips, ticks, fades and shades to create a 24-foor long mural for the showcase. A B&W photography exhibition will also be formed from the photos you take and develop in a darkroom at the 35mm workshop.
