Get creative this March at Library

LISBURN City Library will be holding a series of events in March to celebrate creativity month.

On Tuesday March 6 author Martina Devlin will present ‘Titanic: The Human Face of Tragedy’ and will talk about how ordinary working folk were among the great and the good travelling on this headline-making luxury liner, in the hopes of a better life in the US.

The library will also be hosting a one day photo story film project for Year 11 students on Saturday March 10.

The theme of Creativity Month is ‘creative connections’ to inspire new ideas, new collaborations and a new economy.

Libraries across Northern Ireland will be holding events and initiatives to support this initiative, which has been devised by the Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure.

The Libraries NI event programme features author visits, talks, drama, music, poetry and storytelling events, creative writing workshops, health roadshows, business sessions, a fashion show and much more.

Irene Knox, Chief Executive, Libraries NI explained: “Libraries NI recognises the importance of the creative industries sector to the economy and its potential to generate long-lasting economic benefits for Northern Ireland and we are pleased to mark this month by holding a packed programme of events. I hope that these free events will appeal to people of all ages and encourage them to call into a local library and enjoy being a part of Creativity Month celebrations.”
