This summer enjoy a wide selection of sports sessions for FREE at 20 multi-use games areas (MUGAs) throughout the borough.

The MUGA Summer Sports Programme, suitable for all ages and abilities, will be taken by experienced coaches who will ensure you have fun and get the best out of each session.

The inclusive sports sessions include tennis, multi-sports, keep fit, soccer, mini games, fundamentals and Gaelic to name but a few.

The scheme, organised by the Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council’s Sports Development Department along with local community groups and funded by the Department of Communities, has been extended across the entire borough and now includes venues in Armagh, Banbridge and rural areas.

“I am delighted that so many venues throughout the borough will now be offering the MUGA Summer Sports Programme.

“ It has been running very successfully for the past few years in 13 venues so it is great to now be able to expand the scheme across the borough.

“ The programme offers quality sports and physical activity opportunities and is always well attended.

“It is good to see young people taking an interest in their own communities and getting involved” said Lord Mayor of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon, Councillor Garath Keating.

The MUGAs taking part in this year’s scheme are: Maghery, Scotch Street, Churchill, Corcrain, Brownstown, Portadown People’s Park, Killicomaine, Parkmore, Clonmeen, Ardowen, Taghnaven, North Lurgan, Mourneview, Donacloney, Lawerencetown, Millfield, Callenbridge, Drumarg, Drumbreada and Mullacreevie.

The current programme starts on July 4 and runs for seven weeks.
