Get involved in Youth Elections - Swann

Local UUP MLA Robin Swann is calling on all young people in the borough aged 11-18 to get involved with this year’s provincial youth elections.

His appeal came as it was announced that nominations are now open for the 2014 Northern Ireland Youth Elections.

Mr Swann said: “These elections represent a tremendous opportunity for our constituency’s young people to play a significant role in the future direction of Northern Ireland.

“In February 2014, young people aged 11 to 18 from across the Province will have the opportunity to vote for their peers in election for the UK Youth Parliament and the NI Youth Congress. It would be absolutely fantastic if North Antrim had the honour of being represented in both these significant youth parliaments,” said Assemblyman Swann.

The UK Youth Parliament (UKYP) is an initiative run by the British Youth Council in partnership with the NI Youth Forum. Find out more at www.ukyouthparliament.org.uk
