The UUP Assemblyman says he is fully supportive of the Consumer Council’s work in trying to raise awareness about utility companies’ ‘Customer Care and Critical Care’ registers.

He says: “I am sure there are North Antrim constituents who may be able to benefit from the extra support available, and I wholeheartedly encourage people to sign up.

“If you are of pensionable age, have a disability, hearing and/or visual impairment, or long-term ill-health, you could benefit from getting on to your energy and water companies’ Critical Care and Customer Care lists.

“The Consumer Council has found that people who could benefit from these additional services are missing out, so it has prepared some advice on how to access these services and what you can do to be prepared in the event of loss of electricity or water supply,” he said.

Mr Swann added that the Consumer Council had also compiled a list of the services offered by the different utility companies along with their contact details and that this information can be found on the Consumer Council’s website www.consumercouncil.org.uk/energy. Alternatively you can call on 0800 121 6022.
