Get out walking says the mayor

With only one walk left in Coleraine Borough Council’s Guided Walks Programme, Council is encouraging everyone to make the most of the last few weeks of summer, to get outside and get walking!

The mayor of Coleraine, councillor George Duddy, is encouraging everyone to join in.

“With the long summer evenings coming to an end, the Guided Walks Programme is a great opportunity for both walking enthusiasts and those who walk less often,” he said.

““The natural beauty and heritage throughout The Borough of Coleraine make for great locations and trails to explore.

“This not only provides an interesting walk but also the opportunity to meet new people and learn about the area.”

The programme is co-ordinated by Council’s Countryside and Marine Manager, Mark Strong who said: “The guided walks programme is designed to provide participants with a range of expertly guided walks in stunning locations throughout the Borough and continues to be a huge success.

“The final walk of the programme will take place on Tuesday, August 26 in Coleraine, entitled ‘Round the Ramparts’.
