Get your drugs before holiday

PEOPLE are being warned to collect essential prescriptions in advance of the extended public holiday next Monday and Tuesday, June 4-5) during which local GP practices will be closed.

GP Practices will be closed for the extended Bank Holiday on Monday, June 4, Spring Bank Holiday and Tuesday, June 5, Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

GP Out of Hours services will provide urgent medical care for problems that cannot wait until GP Practices re-open. The telephone number for Western Urgent Care, the out-of-hours GP service in the western area, is 02871 865 195.

The Health and Social Care Board together with local GPs wish to remind the public to check their medicines and to ensure that they have sufficient supplies to cover the extended public holiday period.

There is still time to order repeat prescriptions from your doctor and to collect your medicine from your local pharmacy.

Local pharmacy out-of-hours arrangements will be operating over the Bank holidays.

Details of dental services will be displayed at dental surgeries or can be obtained by contacting your dentist. For out-of-hours urgent dental problems, patients should contact their dental surgery.
