Getaway Plan set for Belfast date

After two Top 20 albums in their homeland of Australia plus recent UK tours with Pierce The Veil and Anberlin, The Getaway Plan are now set to premiere some brand new material when they perform at Mandela Hall in Belfast on October 3.

The show in Belfast will be a chance for local fans to hear material from the band’s brand new EP - Lovesick, which is released at the end of September.

Marking the recording debut of new bassist Jase Clarke, the ‘Lovesick’ EP features two new tracks – ‘Lovesick’ and ‘Mirror’ – which were produced by the band alongside Matt Bartlem. The EP is completed by two of the highlights from their most recent album, 2011’s ‘Requiem’, in the shape of ‘Flying Colours’ and ‘Heartstone’.

From the time The Getaway Plan released their debut EP in 2006, to their Big Day Out performance in 2009, the then barely post-teen band moved at lightning speed as their sound and fan base exploded, making them one of Australia’s most talked about upcoming bands. However, the rapid pace of this success took its toll on the young band and left the future of The Getaway Plan in doubt.

After going their separate ways for a period to focus on other musical endeavours, November 2010 saw the band announce their reformation live on Triple J. The break between albums enabled the band to take the sense and sound of The Getaway Plan to the next level.

The release of the ‘Lovesick’ EP coincides with The Getaway Plan’s upcoming tour as support to Sleeping With Sirens.

Tickets are on sale now from all usual outlets.
