Getting the right treatment in the right place
The Northern Trust is reminding Carrick reisdents of the treatments available at Whiteabbey Hospital’s Minor Injuries Unit as part of the ‘Choose Well’ campaign.
The campaign aims to help people get access to the right services quickly, whether it is checking online, a trip to the pharmacy or an appointment with the GP.
Minor Injuries Units treat injuries that are not critical or life threatening and patients can be seen more quickly than in an Emergency Department, where more serious cases will take priority.

Hide AdThose who attend the unit are seen by fully qualified and trained Emergency Nurse Practitioners (ENPs), who are able to assess, diagnose, develop treatment plans and discharge or refer appropriately without reference to a doctor.
