Gift from Bulgaria to Larne

A former councillor has brought a gift from a Bulgarian mayor to Larne’s former first citizen.

Alex Caldwell who has a holiday home in Geshaview Ecological Village, Carena Livada, had presented a plaque from Larne to the town’s lady mayor Detelona Kyasovo.

Addressing the council, Mr. Caldwell spoke of Larne’s proximity to Belfast, Antrim, Ballymena and the province’s two main airports.

He also highlighted the town’s tourist attractions and businesses and urged his listeners to visit Larne and Northern Ireland.

After his address, he was presented with a gift for the mayor of Larne which he has presented to former councillor Martin Wilson.

The exchange was organised by former alderman Roy Beggs.
